The children's department is very active here at CBC.  Sometimes it is a little noisy too.  Working with the children reminds us what the Bible teaches in Matthew 18:3 that "unless [we] turn and become like children, [we] will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (ESV). The teachers and helpers are grateful for what we learn from the kids and give thanks to the Lord for the opportunity to work with His precious children.

The younger children enjoy reading their Bibles, singing, making crafts and, of course, snack time.  They are learning to respect each other and to listen during quiet time.

Praising the Lord through music is also a favorite.  And, when the puppets come to visit, the children love them and enjoy being part of the show.

The older children are immersed in a curriculum focusing on discipleship and learning about kids on missions around the world.  The Bible teaches them to "Let no one despise [their] youth but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12 ESV) and they are learning that God can use them even while they are young.

The children are also growing their relationship with Christ through prayer.  Many children volunteer to lead the group in prayer.  They pray for family and friends, or simply give a blessing.

Child Safety

CBC Children's Ministry volunteers are required to complete MinistrySafe training as a part of our commitment to child safety.

We also utilize Planning Center's

Check-In's system for child and guardian identification, comprehensive background checks and regular training for volunteers, and policies and procedures designed for child safety.

Our mission is for children to be safe and loved as they learn about Jesus!
