The 2020-2021 school year is bringing a lot of changes for students, parents, teachers, and the whole state of Maryland. Because of this, Cecil County Public Schools (CCPS) have asked for organizations in the community to open their doors as Learning Centers. Conowingo Baptist Church (CBC) is excited to be a blessing to our community in this way!

FAQ

What is the Learning Center?
The Learning Center set up at Conowingo Baptist will consist of rooms throughout our church set up for student use. Our goal is for students to have a safe, socially-distanced space where they can complete their academic work. Our church has recently updated our wi-fi to have a strong connection for students coming to do their school work.
Where is the Learning Center?
The Learning Center consists of multiple rooms set up inside Conowingo Baptist Church. Our address is 151 Rocks Springs Rd, Conowingo, MD 21918.
What time will the Learning Center open and close?
We will open at 8:00 AM and close at 4:00 PM.

What days will the Learning Center at CBC be open?

Our Learning Center will be open according to the CCPS School Calendar. We will be open Mondays thru Fridays every week, and will be closed on school holidays.

Is there a cost to use the Learning Center?
No! If you will be staying with your student at the Learning Center, there is no cost to you.

Can I drop off my student at the Learning Center?
No. Students using the Learning Center must be accompanied by a responsible adult the entire time they are there. If you are interested in a program where you can drop off your students, we are also partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Harford and Cecil County. This will be a paid program also available at CBC on the same days. You can get more information below!
What supplies will be available on site for my student to use?
The Learning Center has Chromebooks, desktops, and iPad available for use. Because these items are first come first serve, we ask that if you have your own device you can use, you bring it with you to the Learning Center.
Will there be an adult on site at the Learning Center to assist my student with technical difficulties, showing them the room they will be working in, etc?
Yes. A liaison from CBC will always be on site.
Is this Learning Center recognized by CCPS?
Yes! You can find CBC on their list of Supports for Virtual Learning here!
How can my child get a school lunch at the Learning Center?
When registering each day your student will be using the Learning Center, we ask for their name, grade, and school. We can then pass this information to their school, who can send their lunch to the Learning Center.
Volunteers always needed!
